The plant was designed and constructed under a turnkey Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) contract by a Scandinavian contractor using suppliers from a number of European countries. The installation included a first of a kind design of fluidised bed combustor requiring specialist technical input during commissioning.
The plant was built to replace an ageing energy centre providing heat to a municipal heat network.
The design included packages from a number of different suppliers sourced from different countries. This presented unique challenges at the site level in ensuring that language barriers and working practices were reconciled.
