Padd Energy

Eggborough Power Station

Eggborough is a 1960MWe coal fired power station. Padd Energy team members initially worked for British Energy to provide a feasibility study to ascertain the possibility of burning a percentage of biomass in their coal fired boilers.

As Technical Advisors our services include:

Once complete the scheme reduced the coal consumption by approx. 44,000 tonnes per year thus reducing CO2 emissions by approx. 108,000 tonnes per year. We later worked on the design of a liquid biomass pipeline system from an existing biomass silo to the oil burners. We also undertook a number of boiler inspections at Eggborough along with FGD studies, an SO3 pipeline design system, coal plant modifications and also managed a site wide civil/structural asset management contract for over 7 years on the site.
